Miradry for Hyperhidrosis
Over the past year we have introduced a new technology to our practice for the treatment of hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating. In the past we’ve used Botox to treat hyperhidrosis but with this technology we are able to use Miradry to treat axillaries or under the arm sweating. Some patients suffer terribly, they always require a cover up, they only wear black, they only wear white, they don’t attend certain social events, they won’t go to dances, they won’t go out with their friends, they won’t go to parties because of their excessive sweating. Other patients that we’ve been treating are simply, they sweat too much, their staining their shirts, their spending a lot on dry cleaning and they want some relief from the excessive sweating that they have under their arm. Miradry uses a technology, it’s electric magnetic radiation, it’s a microwave technology and in about twenty minutes, patients can be treated permanently for their excessive sweating.
The Miradry process is pretty straight forward. Patients will come in, we’ll make sure they’ve shaved any excessive hair they have under their excella, and we’ll go ahead and localize the area, we’ll numb it up and in about ten to twelve minutes on each side we’ll move through the process of utilizing the Miradry to permanently remove the sweat glands. There isn’t any pain associated with the treatment but following the treatment we recommend you ice the area, there is an inflammatory response and it does feel a little bit stiff for a couple of days, as though you’re carrying some books. Most patients go immediately back to work or whatever activity without missing a beat but what patients will notice immediately is the reduction of sweat. Miradry has been a life changer in what it has done for our patients, the patient satisfaction with Miradry is upwards of ninety eight percent. Miradry changes lives, it allows people to get back out there, we see patients coming back with new wardrobes because now they can wear clothes, their saving money on their dry cleaning, they’re able to interact socially and at work and Miradry has really been a game changer in how we address hyperhidrosis.
