You’re as nervous as you will be today to 14 yes or no make last night looks pretty straightforward so basically um is your address Russell Kentucky to Seton he will take this form to your primary care doctor or somewhere to have history and physical completed and you’re pretty healthy so the only testing that you’ll need is just your pregnancy test and will also do that the day of the procedure we just do a serum and then we are going to be giving you these prescriptions here today Right it’s just your pregnancy test and will also do that the day of the procedure we just do a serum and then we are going to be giving you these prescriptions here today he will take these to your pharmacy and get them filled so you’ll have them for after the procedure hydrocodone acetaminophen is that like a generic Vicodin it’s Norco you’ll take a half to one tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain this can also cause constipation see all want to stock up on water and I’m Keflex antibiotic before we give you this to prevent infection you will actually start taking this the day before the procedure will take it 1 tablet 4 times a day you won’t take it the morning of the procedure because you’re going to not be able to eat or drink anything a Medrol dose pack this is a light steroid that will help with any swelling we give this to you you can take it if you want you don’t have to do some people get hyper from them but most people take him and do fine and then the instructions on that are on the back there’s a punch hole punch thing on the back of it is a steroid any questions about your medication  so you will see your primary care doctor

change this as needed but not too frequently that’s all you need to do and then we’ll send you home with gloves gloves with ice and you can eyes and face like so see every operation is accompanied by 6 to 48 hours okay oh yeah you’re so it can be worse in the morning so you’re going to want to sleep elevated on a couple of extra pillows in your swelling and bruising very from Patient to Patient we had a patient in here today he was 1 week post-op she was a revision she had a little things done but she had never isn’t like she look really good so is exciting staying up as much as possible when you get home but of course rest when you feel tired sleep with your head elevated like we said avoid bending or lifting anything heavy for one week that would just raise your blood pressure cause bleeding it is not necessary so sleep alone no spouse children or animals in bed we talked about if you take the narcotic pain medication stocking up on a mouth stool softener apply ice compresses to your eyes 20 minutes out of every hour so we’ll give you the supplies for that pain medication I would get extra strength Tylenol or take the narcotic that we gave you and then you want to continue your antibiotic until it’s gone and the vitamins we recommended the anti-nausea it’s not a suppository we gave you a pill if you’re nauseous just take the pill and then you will have that we talked about the splint put on your nose after the operation is to remain in place until your follow-up and 1 week at that point we will remove it but away from the nasal blockage is to be expected after surgery it will gradually subsided time this congestion is similar to a head cold leave you unable to breathe through your nose during the first couple of weeks so it is not painful but it’s just annoying for you to help alleviate congestion we will we’re going to get light before the procedure and then will be home with the bottle that you’ve used so you can use Afrin spray twice a day for the first 3 days and you can begin your getting your nose with saline spray which will provide yeah you just feel like a congestion from the swelling and break yes you can expect more mucus drainage for several days it will be blood to cause no concern unless it’s straight blood coming out you can clean the outside of your nose and upper lip with the moist and Q-tips this is when you go after the week you know before we don’t want you to insert anything into your nose but you can remove the little dried blood with Q-tips and peroxide apply for you a shower and wash your hair with them out baby shampoo I mean you can use a normal shampoo on your and you’re not going to do that anyway if you do blow dry your hair is recommended someone will bring you to your post but you can drive yourself to your 1 week as long as you’re feeling fine and you’re not taking the narcotic pain medication activity for 4 weeks so at your follow-up appointment we will check with him and let you know from there
