Says Mendelsohn, “Kybella is identical to the deoxycholic acid that is produced in the body in order to help it absorb fats. Kybella is a cytolytic drug, which when injected into tissue physically destroys the cell membrane. It is administered as an injection directly into the fat tissue in the submental area. Patients receive multiple injections in a single treatment, and usually require a total of two or more treatments spaced about four to six weeks apart. What worked on the double chin is now working equally as well to get rid of unwanted “bra fat” and excess fat in the jowls and jaw line.”
He continues, “Results are seen in just 3-4 weeks, with the full effect visible in 8 weeks, and the fat is permanently destroyed.”
The cost for Kybella is approximately $1200-$1500 per treatment, depending on how many injections are required.
