Hi how are you good hi I’m Teresa Finding time for today you also do the day of the procedure is fine as well after and no allergies and what what medications do you take Advil like just as needed which I’m going to use your tree so your folder to kind of go over everything and you guys can look over yours and then I’ll give you yours back office leaving leave so both of them have you had your exam completed you have antibiotics before the procedure so on October 10th start taking this take it 4 times a day until it’s gone it will prevent any infection so hydrocodone-acetaminophen as it’s a generic Vicodin like a Norco given and you can take it I have to 1 tablet every 4 to 6 hours as needed for pain I would almost suggest just stocking up on extra strength Tylenol some patients get by with just taking that which I think you’re going to with an adverb left so we give you this just in case Ambien is a sleeping pill if you need to take it to help sleep at night any questions about the prescriptions that you’re going to have for after until it’s gone until it’s gone we bring in today to go over what to expect so on the day of the 11th will call the week ahead of time and give you an arrival time will come in your check in at the front desk there where you did we bring you back will take photos you have to come in with a clean face and makeup on you we will do all of your photos will take you back into a pre-op room where we will have you wash your face off of the special soap and then you’ll be given oral medication so what will let that work for a little bit in the meantime I will come in and talk with you answered a question that you have before you walk into the procedure room where you’ll just have a blood pressure cut van and a pulse ox on your finger and he will then Mark the site that takes a little bit of time and then whole lemon up with a local anesthetic and then we let that work for 20-30 minutes I’ll come in help start with your left eye and then I’ll go to the right I all right or if you are blurry eyes but if not Kind of what to think through but would touch base on everything as I go through these instructions which you are going to actually take these home with you everything that’s in this folder so we wanted to make sure that you get the best you know result from your surgeries to try to follow these as best as possible 1 month prior to surgery on if you smoke just be no smoking interferes with healing and the outcome of the procedure so stop that and patients having eye surgery need to have a complete eye exam which would give you the information you’re going to have that done two weeks prior let us know of any medications or supplements that you take so that I have Bill would say stop any fish oil aspirin things like that that would cause extra bleeding there for a result and bruising all surgical fees should be paid in full when we leave here we’ll stop at the front desk and touch base on that the doctors exams and tests results ordered that would be your eye exams to you are aware that you need that avoid sun exposure so this is 2 weeks prior and then I’ll see 30 days after okay I’ll make Transportation Arrangements today the procedure so we recommend that you have someone bring you it takes about 4 hours over here but the whole pre and post thing and then I’ll take you back home bring you the next morning to follow up Fever blister any skin eruption it may not to cancel your surgery but we may have to order something extra for you hookah discontinue taking vitamin E or any supplement containing vitamin E and access to 200 I use per day we want you to start taking aspirin ibuprofen Motrin Excedrin all of these you may only take Tylenol all of this here isn’t even the above take these bags with you today basically is just to help clean your incision sites after the procedure so you’re going to take those home today you’ll come in your next morning at your follow-up we will actually clean the incisions for you you’ll go home and do that on your end looks clean with our supplies here the day before the surgery it says you have been given a prescription for an antibiotic begin taking it day before taken to post gone it says exception do not take the morning of the procedure if you’re having anesthesia or you’re not having anesthesia so you can actually eat and drink when we will call you with the week ahead of time to let you know your arrival time we want you to wash your hair do not apply product move remove all makeup wigs bobby pins hair clips jewelry and dark nail polish that would interfere with the pulse ox reading a shirt that buttons and we just don’t want to pull in things over at the day of removing at the day off and then two weeks after until everything’s to interfere with sunglasses when you leave because down just something light and don’t drink you can drink but not a lot you know the company expects to reach its peak at 36 to 48 Hours one person may have more bruising and swelling you know he may have everyone is an individual and so we went to stay up as much as possible when you’re at home you know when you’re tired because the more elevated that had the last swelling and if you do when you’re sleeping a few days off to one side that time may be more puffy but once you’re up moving around at all just to avoid bending over and lifting heavy things for one week

Sleep with your head elevated 30 to 40 degrees for 1 to 2 weeks sleep alone avoid anyone hitting your face you know if spouse animals children in bed we also recommend that you begin taking us if you do have to take the button generic Vicodin and Norco for pain it can cause constipation see if you do take that drink extra water and maybe even a light stool softener and we just don’t want your blood new strain in your blood pressure cleaning the day of the procedure we will give you this the supplies that you will need to do your slush packs for your eyes so you will receive a little Basin that you’ll put ice and water and we will give you 4 x 4 gauze and you will lay with them over top of your eyes 20 minutes out of every hour okay but that will be given to the procedure and we talked about the pain medication extra strength Tylenol or if needed if bleeding occurs you would go to bed elevate your head apply the cold compresses and have someone call the office cleanse your seizure lines above and below the eyes with peroxide and a Q-tip applicators that we gave you three times a day and then we have you some Bacitracin ointment in there for you as well but we’ll go over the day after Salat pre will go over how to care for everything after and then you will come in one week later have your stitches removed a shower and wash your hair with a mild baby shampoo which is provided in there the day following surgery that you will not have addressing the shower spray needs to be soft and not for school so keep just keep your head out of the line of the shower you may blow dry your hair with on a cool setting avoid pull over clothes for two weeks postoperatively no swimming golfing or strenuous activity for 4 weeks returning to work depends on how physical and how much public context you have the average patient returns to work in 5 to 8 days to color your hair either one of you I do about 3 to 4 weeks after a lot of people do either one of you wear contact lenses after upper eyelid surgery until 10 days after surgery surgery 30 days to wear glasses last paragraph here will run from here to here so I mean as long as you’re not as long as you’re

Long as you’re just careful in the eyeshadows what’s going to kill me I mean you can apply get size you can up just avoiding right over top of it you just don’t want it to get infected and she said anytime I know you know that anytime they have a surgery to have an incision just always have clean hands and you know things like that so sometimes people are a little nervous too they want like one of Valium just not the end you know I don’t think it’s not painful so you’re not going to need you not just depending on how you feel that day okay you want to listen to Pandora and they are so think about that and it’s just a real relaxing environment we will cover you with warm blankets and and usually if we do get that medication patients are usually by the time injections happen. Dozed off but this is more to also for the advanced left cuz it’s a little bit longer procedure and that’s typically typically maybe do a Valium for the upper bleph patients come in there like I did it you know and it’s nice to offer the Valium if you are extremely nervous and your little goodie bags with all your cleaning supplies
