Tattoo Regret?

Erase That Tattoo Completely In Just 3-6 Treatments!

CINCINNATI, OH — July 21, 2014 — We all have embarrassing past experiences that we would like to erase – and for millions of Americans, this includes body ink. Nothing is worse than being stuck with a permanent memory of an ex husband, boyfriend, wife or girlfriend, or an unwanted symbol or design etched in a prominent locale on one’s body.

Research shows that the number of U.S. adults who have a tattoo has increased to 45 million, or one in five (21%). This includes over half (60%) of all women over the age of 18.

Dr. Jon Mendelsohn at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center is the first physician in Greater Cincinnati to offer new PicoSure, the world’s first and only picosecond aesthetic laser, which delivers ultra-short pulse bursts of energy to the skin in trillionths of a second, effectively cutting the treatment time required to effectively remove a tattoo in half.

Says Mendelsohn, “With the rise in tattoos, tattoo regret has also becoming increasingly prevalent.  In fact, research shows that 20% of individuals with body ink have tattoo regret – whether for personal or aesthetic reasons, or even to fulfill a job requirement such as the police force or the military who have varying restrictions regarding the placement of tattoos. The typical tattoo removal patient is a single, college educated, female who is between the ages of 24-39 years old and the average age is 31. The amount of tattoo removal procedures models this trend, demonstrating an increase in 2011 of 32%, and an even higher percentage, 43%, in 2012.  It is apparent from these statistics, and the increasing number of tattoos, that the tattoo removal market is growing at a significant rate.”

Mendelsohn adds, “PicoSure technology has made it possible to remove unwanted tattoos via a faster and safer method that ever before. Only a few treatments may be required, depending on the size, color and location of the tattoo. Blue or black ink can typically be removed the fastest. In any case, this revolutionary, new technology cuts the number of treatments in half over a traditional laser due to its tremendous speed. The lasers remove the ink by targeting the pigment with a high intensity light beam causing it to break up into smaller molecules. The ink is then absorbed by the natural bodily processes, fading the tattoo until it is no longer visible, typically within 3-6 treatments spaced 6 weeks apart.”

Says Mendelsohn, “No longer will patients need to consider time-consuming and less effective treatments such as acid removal, excision, and dermabrasion, which were considered the only options less than a decade ago.”
