Botox For Underarm Sweating Cost

Botox For Underarm Sweating Cost

Botox for underarm sweating – what is the cost? If you are dealing with hyperhidrosis, you are certainly wondering how to stop excessive armpit sweating and wondering if this can be done naturally or permanently. Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, affects 15 million people, and can be of the armpits, called axillary hyperhidrosis, or any other body area, including the hands and feet. Finding the best solution for you is important due to the physical, social and emotional discomfort this causes, as well as the expense of cleaning and replacing clothing. If you are looking for an effective and long-lasting solution to excessive sweating, Botox injections may be your answer, and I’d like to discuss the cost. Botox, or botulinum toxin type A, is know for its use treating facial lines. It is also FDA approved for axillary hyperhidrosis. It works by blocking the chemical acetylcholine, which sends the message to the sweat gland to activate. This effect lasts 6 months or more, with 80% reduction in sweat production and a 90% satisfaction rate. The cost of Botox for underaram sweating will depend on the number of units used. This will vary based on the size of your armpit and the severity of your sweating. For a smaller person with a milder case, using as little as 25 units per side may be effective, while a larger or heavier sweater may need as much as 100 units for each axilla. We typically use 25 to 50 units per side. The cost will vary based on where you live, experience of the clinician, and the practice setting, and will typically range from 600 to 1000 dollars. Botox injections take minutes to perform with minimal discomfort, no recovery, and full effectiveness within 7 days. While Botox injections will provide months of relief, MiraDry is the only way to stop armpit sweat permanently. MiraDry uses heating energy to destroy and eliminate sweat glands. This treatment consists of numbing the area with injections, then application of heat to the underarm areas using the exclusive treatment handpiece. Ice is used for 48 to 72 hours afterwards to minimize tenderness and swelling, which is expected. Sweating stops immediately as the swelling blocks the ducts and the sweat glands have been damaged. After several months any surviving glands may recover and a second treatment may be desired for maximal result. The cost of MIraDry is 2 to 3000 dollars per treatment. You may be hoping to stop armpit sweating naturally, seeking solutions such as the use of baking soda, vinegar, or witch hazel. Topical agents such as these act as astringents to close the opening of the sweat gland duct, as odor neutralizers, bacterial inhibitors, and absorbers of moisture. They may offer relief for mild cases or partial improvement for more severe sweating. Topical over the counter and prescription antiperspirants and deodorants are available, and rely on aluminum chloride or a derivative to block the duct of the sweat gland, and to inhibit or prevent odor, and are also helpful for sweaty armpits.
