CINCINNATI (WKRC) – As temperatures dip due to the winter season, people may experience the ‘winter itch.’
The itch feels as though there is an extra layer of irritation right under the skin.
While many people head to the spa for treatment, there are many self-care options as well, including moisturizing, washing your hands, and taking hot showers.
Among other things you can do, says Dr. Jon Mendelsohn a facial plastic surgeon at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center, is using a good moisturizer right when you get out of the shower.
“There’s a lot of talk about that, while you are still not totally dry, use the moisturizer,” Dr. Mendelsohn said. “That’s something we recommend as well.”
Finally, using sunscreen and maintaining hydration is more important in the winter maybe than in the summer.
