On June 21, Dr. Mendelsohn and his family are traveling to Africa to meet the children living in an orphanage in Tanzania owned and lovingly operated for the last 10 years by Connie Naber and her charitable organization – Karama Connection.
Please visit Dr. Jon Mendelsohn’s Out of Africa blog right here as he introduces us to the children and gives a peek into Karama Connection which supports orphaned children in Arusha, Tanzania.
Connie Naber in Africa with her kids!
As their guardian, Connie cares for these 12 children, 10 of whom are HIV+. During his time in Tanzania, Dr. Mendelsohn will be assisting all of the children with their health needs, educating the children and the house staff on day to day basic health, and sharing his love of art as part of his mission. He is so excited about this adventure!
Dr. Mendelsohn will be performing reconstructive surgery on one of the children, in addition to providing much needed medical services for all of the children. This has become a passion of Dr. Mendelsohn’s and we hope to raise awareness of this organization on a larger scale.
