Facial Plastic Surgeon Dr. Jon Mendelsohn Launches New Augmented Reality App For Patients

CINCINNATI, OH – February 4, 2020 – Dr. Jon Mendelsohn, a facial plastic surgeon and medical director of Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center has always been the first to embrace new technologies in both the operating room, but also ones that will help “connect” him with patients in a real and personal way.

In 2019, Mendelsohn installed a 900-square-foot live stream AR studio, known as Studio A, inside his state-of-the-art office located inside Rookwood Tower. The studio is equipped with professional lighting and high-definition cameras, a teleprompter, green screens, a variety of sets and also an editing bay. It is used to produce videos and podcasts to educate patients about various cosmetic and surgical procedures, and share real stories of patients whose lives have been transformed due to the efforts of Mendelsohn and his team, and also film live AR experiences.

Additionally, Mendelsohn recently launched the new Follow Your Beauty Augmented Reality (AR) app, that uses the newest technology to take patient communications to an entirely new level – inside the surgical center and beyond.  The app, (available for both Apple and Android), allows patients to schedule appointments, address questions or concerns with any of the Advanced providers 24/7, learn about upcoming promotional offers and events, and get directions. Additionally the AR feature specifically allows users to learn more about any of the products that are sold by Advanced, as they hold their smart phones over a given product. Dr. Mendelsohn (and other providers) also “comes to life,” giving special messages and updates directly to patients when they hold their phone over the displays depicting his photo.
