How to get a healthy glow for the holiday season without surgery
CINCINNATI (WKRC) – One of the hottest holiday trends is trending younger.
Botox and other cosmetic topical procedures are now popular among those as young as 20 as many hope to stop wrinkles before they start.
For the past couple of months, Local 12 has been following three women who wanted to go home for the holidays looking and feeling better, but they also wanted to have results that would last for a lifetime. They are all in their 20s, 30s and 40s.
The team at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center used several topical treatments, including tiny needles are used with radiofrequency. They also used PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, which comes from your own blood and is topically applied to the face.
They also used either fillers, which fill in the wrinkles, or products, such as Botox, that relax them.
For Lauren Stoecker, the youngest in her 20s, her goal is to fill in her under-eyes area, which she says looks dark.
For Dani Reiss, who is in her 30s, the goal was to look how she feels: young and active. She opted for topical skin treatments.
As for what they will prevent in the future?
Dr. Jon Mendelsohn says wrinkle reducers are growing in popularity for those in their 20s and 30s. He says this group is using it as a preventative.
“I’m not an advocate for starting too young when you don’t need it and when you’re not interested, but for people — sometimes, for example, people are just very expressive…so as a 20-year-old, you could prevent those deep wrinkles from forming with the use of Botox or Jeuveau,” Dr. Mendelsohn said.
Most of these treatments can range in cost from about $200-$1,200, depending on how many you need. Most are not covered by your medical insurance plans.
