0:11
Joining us now with new high-tech help for tattoo removal and even skin pigmentation that you might not want.
0:18
We welcome Doctor John Mendelson of the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center.
0:21
Good afternoon to you.
0:23
So tell me about this.
0:24
The tattoo thing works.
0:25
How?
0:27
Yeah, so the device that we’re talking about is called Picosure, and Pico means 11 trillionth versus the older technology nano, which meant a billionth, so it’s 1000 times faster.
0:39
So what, what happens is this tattooing, this ink that we have, heat used to be responsible for having your body, your blood vessels go to the area and absorb that ink.
0:51
It’s like a hammer.
0:52
The Picosure is like a jackhammer, so very quickly without dissipating any heat we’re breaking the pigment up into tiny little fragments where your body then can go ahead and resorb it.
1:04
And, so I, I don’t know if it might be half the time that it takes.
1:09
The colors that work the best are the darker colors if you think about it that way, blacks and blues and greens as you move into different pigments like oranges and reds and skin tone, The Picosure helps.
1:23
It takes a little bit longer, but there are other wavelengths that might be appropriate for those.
1:29
one thing I wanna say, Liz, is that, you know, this is used, we talk about tattoo regret, these large tattoos, things that we don’t like, but this is used for women micropigmentation, their eyebrows that have had, you know, maybe not the best art.
1:43
We can, we touch up a lot of those, also women who perhaps have undergone, radiation therapy and have marks on their breasts.
1:52
From the radiation treatment themselves, so there are a lot of uses for this, but, but anyway, it’s a, it’s a great technology.
2:00
You got to, you got to observe it the other day.
2:02
Well, the skin pigment that you said it will remove before we go to video, what does that look like?
2:09
Yeah, so let’s talk about it.
2:10
So the skin pigment we’re talking about, you just asked a good question.
2:12
Is it that purple or reddish area?
2:14
If it’s vascular, so if you can push something on your face and it blanches, then, that’s probably vascular.
2:20
That’s not this laser.
2:21
We’re talking about sun damage.
2:23
We’re talking about melasma from pregnancy, hormonal issues, simply having brown spots on your skin.
2:31
the advantage of this technology though versus we’ve talked about like dot laser resurfacing in the past.
2:37
the skin resurfacing, the CO2 that, that I’ve had.
2:41
We can’t do that on darker skin types with Pico technology.
2:45
We can treat darker skin types who also have those brown spots.
2:50
So there’s two different things, but this device called can can treat tattoos as well as these pigmented lesions on our skin.
2:57
OK, we did have the privilege of seeing just a little of this, and it’s.
3:00
Pretty remarkable.
3:01
Your team says it takes about 6 different visits or so, but we would like to show a few of the befores and afters.
3:06
We have an arm that sort of looks like it’s still a bit discolored, so it’s probably still in the works.
3:12
And then you also had a back that was like perfectly removed.
3:15
You could really see a difference there.
3:18
Average time to get to that.
3:21
It, it, it depends on the color of the ink, really, and, and, and, and, so much of this has faded significantly.
3:28
We wanna not promise that every tattoo is going to be erased completely.
3:34
So, so that’s important to understand, but generally you start to see results fairly quickly and, but, but it can take a number of treatments about a month apart or so, so it takes, it takes some time to remove those to the degree that you just showed with, you know, with some of those tattoos, but then again people change their life stage.
3:55
And their lifestyles and perhaps that tattoo doesn’t represent them anymore so it’s a it’s a great solution.
4:00
All right, we wanna make sure people can find you.
4:02
513-223-513223 is the number to call.
4:07
I know it costs a couple $100 a visit for these, but people say well worth it not to have any regrets.
4:12
We appreciate all your technology and your information.
4:15
Thanks, John.
4:17
Right, thank you
