NORWOOD, Ohio (Liz Bonis) – For more than a year, a local family has been getting some amazing medical attention thanks to a national TV show and a local plastic surgeon, and it’s all changing the life of a 10-year-old girl.Munnii came to the United States from India and joined a wonderful family here, but sometimes the scars of life can be a bit tough to handle. On Wednesday on CW Cincinnati, the show “The Doctors” will air a full hour episode on Munnii and the team at the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery and Laser Center in Norwood who made it all happen. When Munnii first came to see Dr. Jon Mendelsohn, she had scars on her face and hair that was missing from her scalp. They had healed enough for her to be healthy, but that didn’t mean they weren’t noticed by other kids.So for the past year, Dr. Mendelsohn said he chronicled her journey along with the show, “The Doctors.”

He took a video to show how he slowly repaired her facial scars and was able to pull together her hair, repairing the topical wounds to her head.

He had to perform several procedures for the final result, which, even prior to final healing, made a big difference in her appearance and, more importantly, her confidence–a big thing for a little girl.

We expect to share more of this family’s story after the show airs as Munnii’s family doesn’t talk publicly about how these scars happened.

The families are also not charged for these services.

The show airs at 11 a.m. on the CW.
