Which areas of my face can I have botox? (Best Botox Injectors 2021)

Leah Brunie, joined Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center’s exceptional StudioA Team this month and we are thrilled to have her as part of our non-surgical Injection team. Leah Brunie is a Nurse Practitioner and is super excited to be joining the StudioA Team at the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery & Laser Center. I have been a Nurse for almost 20 years.

I’ve been a Nurse Practitioner for 13 years, and I have been injecting for the last six years. My journey as an injector in aesthetics started actually in Cairo, Egypt, when I worked with a plastic surgeon. So this has been a continuation of a dream of mine to help women and men feel their absolute best inside and outside.

Today Leah answers “Which areas and my face can I have Botox?” You can have Botox pretty much anywhere, but the most popular area for Botox is the face. By relaxing different facial muscles from the forehead to the neck, wrinkles can be minimized, resulting in the smoothing of the overlying skin and the upper face.

We treat those frown lines and the area between your eyebrows, we call eyebrows that we call leavens the forehead lines and our crow’s feet. And at the top of the nose we treat those little lines that we call bunny lines and other applications that we may use Botox, is to treat a gummy smile and to soften the lines around the mouth or on the neck and jawline area. Botox relaxes different facial muscles. The muscles can be minimized, resulting in that beautiful smoothing of the overlying skin.

How Does Botox Work?

Botox works by reversibly blocking the process of neurotransmission, which stops the muscles that cause wrinkles from contracting. This reduces the development of any deep lines on the face as well as the fine lines. Additionally, Botox promotes new collagen development, lending a fuller and plumper look. A Botox injection takes only a few minutes and doesn’t require any kind of anesthesia. Botox results are seen within 3 to 5 days after injection and the full effects take 10 to 14 days.

Is There Any Discomfort?

All injections can hurt, but the syringes used for Botox injections are small, so pain is typically minimal. The dermatologist can numb the area with a cold pack or a topical anesthetic cream for 10 to 20 minutes before giving the injections, so you might not feel severe pain, if any. Realize that you might feel a little discomfort a few hours later, once the anesthetic cream has completely worn off. Most people who receive Botox treatments have no severe side effects, and carry on with their day-to-day activities without hindrance. The best dermatologist knows how to administer the injection to avoid side effects. This underscores the significance of finding a practitioner who boasts a wealth of experience in giving Botox injections, such as Dr. Ava and her expert team at Ava MD.

Which Facial Areas can be Treated with Botox?

Forehead Wrinkles

Forehead wrinkles are a by-product of aging, and you can’t run away from them forever. If you are concerned about the premature appearance of fine lines and wrinkles or you wish to keep them at bay for as long as you can, Botox can help. Botox injections for forehead wrinkles are an excellent option for achieving a youthful and relaxed look. Botox can relax the fine lines and wrinkles by reducing the ability of these muscles to contract.

Frown Lines

Frown lines are vertical lines that sit between and above the eyebrow. Similar to forehead wrinkles, as we age frown lines become more and more prominent. Every time you frown, these muscles contract, forming vertical frown lines that are similar to an accordion when it’s compressed. As demonstrated by its huge global popularity and success, Botox works extremely well in removing frown lines or preventing the lines from becoming deeper.

Crow’s Feet

Crow’s feet are those fine lines and wrinkles that extend from the side of your eyes towards your temples, although most people like to call them laughter lines. Fine lines usually appear when the skin loses both collagen and hyaluronic acid. Botox remains the best injectable treatment for crow’s feet. This injectable cosmetic treatment relaxes the muscles that crinkle whenever we grin.  Because different muscles are involved, using it to treat crow’s feet won’t create a glassy, frozen appearance.

Under-Eye Lines

Under-eye lines are triggered by repeated movement of the muscles around the eye and the cheek as well as thinning of the skin due to aging. Botox for fine lines can help to soften the wrinkles under your eyes by relaxing the muscles around the eyes, giving a smoother look. The best thing is that it requires a very small amount and can help soften wrinkles under the eyes. However, Botox won’t reduce all the wrinkles like you may see in crow’s feet or the forehead region, instead you will notice a soft relaxation under the eyes, and you might also notice a bright, open appearance of your eyes.

Marionette Lines

Marionette lines are wrinkles that run from the side of the mouth towards the jawline. Often times, the sides of the mouth are turned downwards, leading to an angry, dissatisfied appearance. Marionette lines are triggered by skin laxity.

The position of the brow on the face is usually a function of muscles above and below the eyebrows raising and lowering each brow. The procedure is very quick and involves less discomfort. Because Botox works by preventing the transmission of impulses to the treated muscles, those muscles that help elevate the brows can function without any resistance from the muscles that keep them down.
