Join us as we welcome our newest staff member, Kristin Smith!

Kristin Smith,PA-C, is certified by the National Commission for certification of physician assistants. As all other certified PAs, Kristin must earn numerous continuing education hours, and take a recertification board exam every six years to maintain her certification. She also stays connected with other Physician assistants and up to date on the PA role as a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Ohio Academy of Physician Assistants. Physician assistants play a crucial role on many healthcare teams, and add another set of medically trained eyes to care for patients.
Kristin began her career as a PA here in Cincinnati after graduating in 2001 from Butler University in Indianapolis. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences from Butler University, where she was elected into the honors fraternity, Alpha Lambda Alpha. A few years after graduating and working as PA, Kristin decided to pursue her master’s degree as a physician assistant from the University of Nebraska. She received a Master of Arts with an emphasis in plastic surgery. It was during this time she obtained a great deal of knowledge about plastic and reconstructive surgery, and found her passion for this specialty and all it has to offer.
Kristin’s career began in the hospital setting where she worked for the department of surgery at Jewish hospital in the Kenwood area. This position exposed Kristin to many surgical areas of medicine. She assisted in over 4000 surgeries in sub -specialties such as orthopedics, general, breast, gynecology, and of course plastics. It was during her time at Jewish hospital that she met a Cincinnati plastic surgeon, and began assisting in the operating with a variety of plastic surgery cases. In 2007, Kristin transitioned to a private PA role with this local plastic surgeon. During the next 8 years she worked solely in plastic surgery and became very knowledgable in the evaluation and treatment of surgical patients, while also assisting in 3000 plastic surgery procedures. Her experience and knowledge allow her to provide a wide range of medical treatments, including evaluation of patient concerns, assisting in surgery, post-surgical care, emergency services, and injectables.
Kristin not only has the surgical skills and experience to help in your medical care, but also loves interacting with patients in a friendly and personable way. She enjoys educating patients about their surgical or non-surgical procedures, and wants to make sure every patient receives optimal care. She loves creating relationships with her patients.
Kristin is a native of Cincinnati, and outside of work enjoys spending time with her husband and stepson. Throughout much of the year they spend countless hours at the baseball diamond where her stepson excels as a pitcher and will be playing next year in college. Kristin and her husband enjoy traveling, especially to the Caribbean where their goal is to visit every island. Recently she has found a new interest in running and will hopefully continue to pursue this healthy activity with numerous races in the future.
